Now this event is all good and well though what does it mean for you? the gaming enthusiast?

Video Games in Australia grew by 41% last year to be the 9th largest consumer in the world (3rd largest per captia). With the Federal Governments $43bn. ^^ exactly. At the moment even the idea digital distribution in Australia is a joke, imo.

Most mummy and daddy Bigpond users will tear through the quota after watching a single HD movie.

ISPs need to embrace this change, offering free bandwidth for different services, aka ISP X to provide bandwidth free iTunes' movie downloads, so you only pay for the rental of the movie from iTunes, and not also your bandwidth.

Great post peppers, platforms like Steam, XBLA, PSN & Itunes are booming at the moment and as internet connections speed up so will their sales

Maybe CG should start a digital distribution network!

awesome
yeah, the consumption of video games is one thing the recession will most likely increase...more people trying to find cheap things to do at home...
especially with the way of the world (at least the western world) getting faster and faster. competitive sports or recreational games in people's study or bedroom will become more and more appealing simply because its cheap and readily available.
