<p>Strap on your jetpacks, and grab your power-swords as street violence is set to skyrocket after major fighting game distributor Red Ant hits rock bottom. The distributor for major developers Capcom, Kanomi, Midway & more was unable kick start its new year with the company being placed into receivership last week.<br /> <br />Even though console sales have grown by almost 50% last year that was not enough to save Redant, who could have cashed in hard with its power house upcomming title, Street Fighter IV. Im unsure if this will delay the launch of the game, though whats certain is that either THQ or Activision is about to cash in like uncle flin with an enormous amount of high profile game contracts up for grabs.<br /> <br />Now im not going to start justifying any potential psychological link between street violence and game violence, though Red Ant certinaly did like it share of violent games, distributing major titles like Mortal Combat, Devil may Cry and the hugely controversial and almost R18+ game, Fallout 3.<br />Now with a lineup like that potentially to be missing from our future gamestores, im not saying that panic is the best option, though next time im heading down the shops for a spot of milk and cheese im sure not going unprepared.<br /><br /><br />Michael Woods<br />www.woodztown.com</p>
